Chat with a stranger. Keep your number.

An anonymous code opens a one-off chat under a nickname — for selling a bike, meeting a buyer or arranging a pickup — without giving out your number, your name or anything else from your profile.

Amara is selling her bike to a stranger.

Giving your number to a stranger stays with you.

A one-time code: chat under a nickname, nothing else shared.

Deal done. Nothing left behind.

Why you'll want it

Your number stays yours

Chat with someone you don't know without handing over your phone number, your email or your name.

One code, one chat

Each code works once. When it's used it's gone, and a code nobody uses is removed after five days.

Just a nickname

You each pick a nickname for the chat. Nothing from your profile is shared — no photo, no details, no share code.

How it works

The allme app showing a new one-time anonymous code as text and as a QR code

01Make a one-time code

Choose "Generate anonymous share code" and pick a nickname. The app shows the code once, as text and as a QR code, and never saves it.

02Read it out or let them scan it

The other person types the code or scans the QR code in their allme app, and picks a nickname of their own.

03Chat under nicknames

You're connected for chat only, and each of you sees just the other's nickname. The chat always shows that it isn't end-to-end encrypted.

How anonymous codes work

An anonymous code is separate from your share code: it is made for one chat, deleted the moment it is used, and removed after five days if nobody uses it. There is no link for it — only reading it out or a QR code. Because neither of you shares a profile, there is no key to lock the messages with, so an anonymous chat is not end-to-end encrypted, unlike your chats with the people you're connected to.

Frequently asked questions

Does the other person see my name or number?

No. They see only the nickname you picked. Nothing from your profile is shared.

Are anonymous chats encrypted?

No. An anonymous chat is not end-to-end encrypted, and the chat always shows a notice saying so. Keep it to things like a price, a time and a place.

How long does a code last?

It works once: the moment someone uses it, it is gone. A code nobody uses is removed after five days.

What if someone misbehaves?

You can report or block them right from the chat. A report reaches the real account behind the nickname.

How do I end the chat?

Remove the connection from its menu, and the chat is over.
