Deep dive
Show your share code as a QR code for someone to scan, or tap two phones together. Nothing to spell out, nothing to mistype.
Amara just met Mei at a party.
Numbers shouted over the music get lost.
Scan the code — or tap phones. One Android phone is enough.
Connected in a second. For real.
Point, scan, send a request. Nothing to spell out over loud music, no digit to get wrong.
Scan a QR code with the allme app on Android, iPhone or the web. Tapping works whenever one of the two phones is an Android phone.
Scanning or tapping only fills in the code. A request is still sent, and the other person decides whether to accept it.
Tap the QR icon on your share code to show it as a QR code.
The other person opens Add connection, taps the scan icon and points their camera at your QR code. Your code is filled in, ready to send a request.
On Android, tap "Tap to share" and hold your phone against the other phone within a minute. Their phone opens your invite, whether it's an Android phone or an iPhone.
The QR code holds your share code and nothing else. "Tap to share" passes on the same invite you can send as a link, and only for 60 seconds after you switch it on, or until you leave the screen. An iPhone can receive a tap but can't send one, so between two iPhones use the QR code.

"Tap to share" only works for 60 seconds after you switch it on, and stops as soon as you leave the screen. Even then it only passes on your invite: they still have to send a request that you accept.
Only your share code. Nothing else from your profile is in it.
Use the scanner in the allme app. The QR code holds only your share code, so a regular camera app would just show the code as text.
Only to scan QR codes. The scanner needs the camera, so the app asks for your permission before it uses it.
